Griffith's Valuation or the Primary Valuation of Ireland, can be insightful as many records from other sources were burnt in 1922.
It can at least, give us an idea of who was alive in a particular year, but like the Census, it can be confusing.
- Some of Castlegar was attached to Galway County, while more was with the City.
- The Parish that a townland was in, could be Oranmore or Saint Nicholas.
- *Duplication of names, can mean that an individual had fragmented land parcels, or numerous dwellings or sheds.
- An individual could have a house in one place and a shed at another location.
- The "Lessor", signifies the immediate or nearest landlord, and maybe not the end of line owner - perhaps a holding or premises could be leased multiple times.
- The Roundabouts may have been named, because of the Lessor associated with the lands near them?
See some records for
- Ballindooley and Anglingham / Gortacallow.
- Ballintemple which covers Ballygurrane, Curragreen, Brucky and Doughiska.
- Ballybrit
- Pollkeen
- Carrowbrowne which covers part of Cloonacauneen, Carrowbrowne and Kyleoughter (Kilroghter)
- Glenanail (Glenanayle), Coolough (Coolagh - the Village in Menlo)

- Family names below, may have changed a little. Eg., Spelman may now be known as Spellman.
