  • Roadstone - CRH (NYSE:CRH)Located in Two Mile Ditch. Limestone, excluding imports. 53.305038 , -9.005365 . Elevation; 71 feet / 21.640 metres.
  • Lackagh Rock - http://www.lackagh.ie . Quarries near Coolough Village. 53.300235 , -9.044527 . Elevation; 97 feet / 29.5656 metres.
  • No longer used one, by the Lake (Lough Corrib) near Anglingham. 53.316634 , -9.062199 .
  • Abandoned for years, another one existed at Two Mile Ditch - See Flash Earth map . 53.306321 , -8.997069 .  Even one more at 53.296648 and -9.006915 ( 53° 17' 47.9322" ,  -9° 0' 24.8934" ) with an elevation of 95 feet / 28.956 metres. See map of this quarry on Flash. It should be remembered that older and smaller quarries were less commercial in nature; mainly supplying rock for the limited local buildings. Large scale land and road fills were unusual, and roads were built to favour the natural topography.
  • The Merlin Park Quarry, known for marble, at Doughiska, near the Major's house - roughly 53.296824 , -9.006895 . Yahoo map. 1814
  • Another old one existed on the North- East side of the Castlegar National School road. Precise location, to come.
  • Across from the Galway Plate Restaurant, and under the site of the relatively new Northpoint Business Park, Tuam road, was another quarry. Coordinates; 53.293932 , -9.015757 . Abandoned for years before W.I.P. built on the site, small too by todays scale; and limestone as well. South of a Pump. Flash Earth map, of where it was. Thanks, P.G., for verification.
